Adrian Evarkiou-Kaku, violin
Adrian and Harold (violin) are both products of the San Diego musician community. In their formative years, they took lessons from the same teachers and were members of the San Diego Youth Symphony. Adrian attended La Jolla Country Day School serving as Concertmaster of the orchestra, and eventually transferred to Interlochen School for the Arts in Traverse City, Michigan. While at Interlochen, he played in a chamber music ensemble with Jacob (cello). After graduating from Interlochen, Adrian studied with Cornelia Heard at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance. When he was done fiddling around in Nashville, Adrian attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied for his Master’s under the tutelage of Dr. Olga Kaler.
After the pandemic in 2020, Adrian made it home to San Diego where he has performed at the Old Globe Theater and the La Jolla Playhouse. He has also performed with the Eagles and other popular groups. He is committed to serving the communities in any city he resides. When he returned to San Diego he taught kindergarten group classes at La Jolla Country Day School through Villa Musica, a non-proft organization based in Sorrento Valley. In Nashville, he taught violin at the W.O. Smith School which provides lessons to students from low income families. Additionally, Adrian interned at the Nashville Symphony in the Education and Outreach Department where he created lesson plans for grades K-12, and ran instrument petting zoos to expose young aspiring children to music. Outside of music, he served as an intern for Father Joe’s Villages in the Planned Giving Department where he helped raise over 2 million dollars for the shelter and hopes to contribute more to the San Diego community through outreach in the city.
